An Optical Loss Test Set is used to test attenuation and absolute power level on transmission systems. It combines a source and meter in one unit. Two LTS are usually required to measure losses on installed systems. Some users may prefer a high performance two-way LTS, or a separate source and meter, or convenient test kit. All Kingfisher LTS are coloured red for easy identification. These Autotest instruments are interoperable with any other Kingfisher Autotest instruments with matching wavelengths.
All Kingfisher less test sets offer superior measurement stability in practical use. When a test lead is repeatedly re-connected to the light source, the coupled power varies by < 0.1 dB. A Kingfisher LTS can also be used as a tone generator for use with a clip-on identifier.
