Our Company
Optical Fibre Systems Pty, Ltd. was founded in 1990 by Don Rush. At first we operated from Runcorn, Queensland before moving to our current location at Acacia Ridge. Initially Don was employed by a university to research optimal methods and techniques for using optical fibre in communication systems. He saw a need in the market for a reliable and experienced specialist optical fibre company in Australia and thus Optical Fibre Systems was started.
Originally a family owned company run by: Don Rush, Rodney Rush and Tony Rush – all of whom have an integral role in the company and running of the business. Since the “early days” the company has grown and developed with new ownership, and driven by the same goals and ideals.
The company provides a full range of optical fibre cable, consumables and splicing and testing equipment.
Our Team
Christopher Fachin is the general manager of the company and has 25 years of experience in the optical fibre field of communication in Australia. Tony has remained on-board as the Technical Director and together with Chris’s respective experiences provide Australia with the oldest, specialist optical fibre company in in the country.
We pride ourselves on offering honest advice and support based on our extensive experience. Our team regularly attends conferences and tradeshows worldwide to ensure that our knowledge is up-to-date so we can provide the latest products and design philosophies of optical networks to our clients.

With a combination of engineering excellence, sound technical practices and a strong worth ethic we deliver a service that has our clients coming back.
Our Difference
All of our work is complemented with high-quality equipment and materials sourced both locally and overseas. Most of the products we sell are designed and manufactured locally in our Acacia Ridge factory. Our facilities are state-of-the-art to create the very best quality cable assemblies and other products. One of our specialities is long-haul, high-capacity systems. We have a division that performs specialist jointing and testing services to ensure our products always meet the highest standards.
One advantage of Optical Fibre Systems is that our products are designed by people who have in-field, working knowledge of the products and systems. This is our greatest strength. With designs conceived in-field or born out of customer requests we are confident in our ability to provide real-world optical fibre communication solutions.
